Versele-Laga Nutribird A19 is a scientifically approved hand-rearing food for baby birds with a high energy requirement. It is designed for use from hatching until weaning and is especially suited to macaws, African greys, eclectus parrots and other baby birds that need a rich, dependable hand-feeding formula.

The recipe is built around a balanced approach to chick rearing, with support for digestion, growth and feather development. The formula includes Opti Digest, Opti Feather and Opti Growth to help make daily hand-feeding more straightforward during the early stages of development.

This is a hand-rearing formula for chicks and baby birds, not a complete adult maintenance food.

Feeding Guide

Mix the powder with fresh water to form a hand-rearing formula and prepare it for each feeding as required. Feed at a serving temperature of 39 °C to 41 °C.

Use the formula from hatching until weaning, adjusting the mix as the chick grows. Keep the consistency smooth and suitable for the bird’s age.

Day 1 to 2 1 part formula to 6 parts water
Day 2 to 3 1 part formula to 5 parts water
Day 3 to 4 1 part formula to 4 parts water
  • Prepare fresh food for every feeding.
  • Do not keep mixed formula for later use.
  • Always follow hygienic hand-feeding practice.
