Overview
Tropical Green Algae Wafers are sinking algae wafers for tropical aquarium fish, made as a plant-based food with spirulina. They are designed for daily feeding of Loricariidae that need a high share of plant and algae ingredients in their diet, making them a useful choice for suckermouth catfish and other bottom-feeding fish that graze or scrape at food on the substrate.
Examples of suitable Loricariidae include Sturisoma aureum, Pterygoplichthys pardalis and Panaque maccus. The wafers also work well as a diet complement for omnivorous bottom-dwelling fish, and they can be offered to freshwater and marine crustaceans too.
They are highly hydrostable, so they absorb water while keeping their shape instead of breaking apart. That makes them easier to feed to crustaceans and helps support a more natural scraping-style feeding response in fish that pick at food from surfaces.
