Overview

The Reptile Systems Zone 3 D3 T8 lamp is a full-spectrum UVB fluorescent tube for reptiles that spend substantial time basking in open sunlight. Its higher UVB output is aimed at Ferguson Zone 3 species and other reptiles with similar high-UV requirements.

The lamp provides UVB for vitamin D3 synthesis while its full-spectrum visible output is designed to show natural colours clearly within the enclosure.

Use & Suitability
  • Designed for high-UV basking reptiles such as bearded dragons, many tortoises, iguanas, tegus and similar Zone 3 species.
  • Use with a compatible T8 fluorescent controller or ballast.
  • A suitable reflector can substantially increase the usable light directed into the enclosure.
  • Provide shaded areas so the animal can move out of the UV exposure.
  • Reptile Systems recommends periodic lamp replacement as UV output declines with use.

Select basking distance and exposure according to the species, enclosure and reflector used. UV percentage alone should not be used as the only guide to safe positioning.
