Overview

The Reptile Systems D3 UV Basking Lamp is a self-ballasted mercury vapour lamp that combines visible light, UVA, UVB and infrared heat from one bulb. It is designed to create a broad, bright basking area for reptiles requiring both heat and relatively strong UV exposure.

The 125W lamp uses a 35-degree beam to spread heat and UV across the basking zone and does not require an external ballast.

Use & Safety
  • Provides heat and UV from a single basking lamp.
  • Wide beam helps create a broad basking zone rather than a very narrow hot spot.
  • UVB supports normal vitamin D3 synthesis in reptiles that require UV exposure.
  • Install vertically in a suitably rated ceramic lamp holder.
  • Provide shaded and cooler areas so the animal can regulate its own heat and UV exposure.

Mercury vapour lamps are not suitable for use with a thermostat or dimmer. Control basking conditions through correct lamp wattage, mounting height and enclosure setup, and follow the supplied manufacturer instructions.
