Suitability

Use & Setup
- Spread the substrate evenly across the enclosure floor.
- For young animals, aim for a depth of at least 5 cm.
- For mature tortoises, use up to 15 cm or more.
- Russian tortoises may benefit from a deeper layer because they burrow extensively.
- Lightly spraying selected areas can create local humidity.
- Do not make the substrate too wet.
Care Notes
For day-to-day upkeep, remove soiled areas regularly and replace the substrate fully every 2 to 3 weeks. This helps keep the enclosure fresh while maintaining a comfortable surface for digging, moving and natural feeding behaviour.
Keep the mix dry to lightly moist rather than saturated. It is intended for arid-style tortoise environments, not wet or overly humid setups.
