ProRep Bedding Tortoise Life 10L
Overview
ProRep Tortoise Life 10L is a specialist reptile substrate designed for tortoises, especially arid-habitat species such as Mediterranean tortoises and Russian tortoises. It gives you a practical bedding base for creating a natural-feeling enclosure floor that supports everyday tortoise keeping.
Made from a natural loam, sand and limestone mix, it provides a textured surface with useful moisture retention and added limestone. That makes it a sensible choice for enclosures where you want to support natural behaviours while keeping conditions appropriate for dryland tortoises.
It is also suitable for many species of arid-habitat lizards.

| Pack Size | 10L |
| Substrate Base | Natural loam, sand and limestone |
Composition
This substrate uses a natural blend of loam, sand and limestone. The mix is designed to give a usable, textured bedding surface that suits arid tortoise enclosures.
- Loam for an earthy substrate base
- Sand for structure and texture
- Limestone included in the mix
- Added limestone can provide extra calcium if the substrate is eaten
How to Use
Spread the substrate evenly across the enclosure base to create a comfortable, practical layer for your tortoise.
- Use a depth of at least 2" / 5cm for young animals.
- For mature animals, use up to 6" / 15cm or more.
- Russian tortoises may need a deeper layer because they burrow extensively.
- Spray selected areas if you want local humidity, but do not make the substrate too wet.
A controlled amount of moisture in selected areas can help create a more natural enclosure environment without soaking the whole substrate.
Care & Maintenance
- Replace completely every 2 to 3 weeks.
- Keep an eye on moisture levels so the bedding does not become too wet.
