Waxworms 15g Pre-Pack
An Appealing Occasional Treat
Waxworms are soft-bodied, highly palatable livefood larvae that can be offered as an occasional treat to suitable reptiles, amphibians and insect-eating birds.
Because waxworms are naturally rich and high in fat, they should be fed sparingly rather than used as a staple livefood.
Why Offer Waxworms?
- Soft-bodied and easy for many animals to take.
- Wriggling movement encourages feeding interest.
- Useful as an occasional high-energy treat.
- Can help add variety to an established livefood diet.
- May tempt some reluctant feeders, subject to veterinary advice where appetite loss is a concern.
Suitable For
Waxworms may be suitable for bearded dragons, leopard geckos, chameleons, frogs, newts, insect-eating birds and other appropriately sized exotic pets.
Use particular restraint with species prone to obesity. Waxworms should not replace a balanced rotation of more suitable everyday feeders.
How to Feed
- Offer only a small number as an occasional treat.
- Adjust the portion to the species, age, size and body condition of your pet.
- Present in a suitable feeding dish or offer individually with feeding tongs.
- Use supplements only where required by your animal’s established care plan.
- Remove any uneaten waxworms after the feeding session.
Storage and Care
Keep waxworms in their original ventilated container and follow the storage guidance provided with the pack. Protect them from direct sunlight, excessive warmth and moisture.
Some natural variation in worm size and pack contents should be expected.
