Mealworm Pre-Pack
Convenient Livefood Variety
Live mealworms are an easy-to-offer feeder insect for many reptiles, amphibians, birds and other insect-eating pets. Their wriggling movement attracts attention and can encourage natural feeding behaviour.
Mealworms have a relatively firm outer casing and are best included as one part of a varied diet rather than relied upon as the sole feeder.
Key Benefits
- Easy to portion and present in a feeding dish.
- Movement encourages interest and natural feeding responses.
- Useful for adding variety to a livefood rotation.
- Suitable for gut-loading before use.
- Popular with many reptiles, amphibians and insect-eating birds.
Suitable For
Mealworms may be suitable for bearded dragons, leopard geckos, larger crested geckos, frogs, newts, insect-eating birds, poultry and other appropriately sized insectivores.
They may not suit every species or every life stage. Take particular care with very small animals or species that have difficulty digesting firmer-bodied insects.
How to Feed
- Offer in moderation as part of a varied, species-appropriate diet.
- Present in a smooth-sided feeding dish to help prevent escape into the substrate.
- Gut-load before use with a suitable feeder-insect diet.
- Dust with supplements where required by your pet’s care plan.
- Remove uneaten worms and monitor your pet’s overall food intake.
Keeping Mealworms
Keep according to the storage instructions supplied with the pack. For longer keeping, place them in a ventilated container with suitable bedding or food and protect them from moisture, direct sunlight and excessive heat.
Livefood size, life stage and quantity may vary naturally.
