Large locusts are an engaging livefood choice for suitably sized insect-eating reptiles and other exotic pets. Their movement encourages natural stalking and hunting while helping to provide variety within the diet.

Suitable For

Large locusts may be suitable for adult bearded dragons, chameleons, larger geckos, monitor lizards and other appropriately sized reptiles, amphibians or exotic insectivores.

Select livefood according to the individual animal’s mouth size, age and feeding ability. Use a smaller grade where there is any doubt.

How to Feed

  • Offer as part of a balanced, species-appropriate feeding plan.
  • Gut-load before use with a suitable nutrient-rich feeder-insect food.
  • Apply calcium or vitamin powder according to your pet’s established supplementation schedule.
  • Offer loose for supervised hunting or individually with suitable feeding tongs.
  • Remove uneaten locusts following the feeding session.

Livefood Care

Transfer to a secure, well-ventilated container where possible. Keep dry, away from direct sunlight and protected from excessive heat or cold. Supply suitable insect food and safe hydration while awaiting use.

Natural variation in insect size and pack quantity may occur.
