Locust Pre-Pack, Extra-Large
Large, Active Livefood
Extra-large locusts provide a substantial livefood option for larger insect-eating reptiles and other suitable exotic pets. Their visible movement encourages stalking, chasing and natural feeding behaviour.
They are best used as part of a varied, species-appropriate diet rather than as the only livefood offered.
Why Offer Locusts?
- Active movement provides stimulating feeding enrichment.
- A substantial feeder for larger animals.
- Easy for many reptiles to see and pursue.
- Can be gut-loaded before feeding.
- Useful for adding variety to a livefood rotation.
Suitable For
Extra-large locusts may be suitable for larger bearded dragons, adult chameleons, larger geckos, monitor lizards and other appropriately sized insect-eating reptiles, amphibians or exotic pets.
Always confirm that locusts are suitable for your particular species and life stage. The insect should be comfortably manageable and not too large for the animal to swallow safely.
How to Use
- Offer only an appropriate number for your animal’s size, age and feeding plan.
- Gut-load the locusts with a suitable feeder-insect diet before use.
- Dust with calcium or vitamin supplement when required by your species-specific care plan.
- Place them where your pet can hunt naturally or offer individually using suitable feeding tongs.
- Remove uneaten locusts after feeding so they cannot disturb or nibble at your pet.
Keeping Your Livefood
Keep the locusts in a secure, dry and well-ventilated container away from direct sunlight and temperature extremes. Provide suitable insect food and a safe source of hydration to maintain their condition before feeding.
Livefood sizes and quantities may vary naturally between batches.
