Feeding Guide
- Keep frozen until required and defrost only the individual feeder being used.
- Thaw completely before feeding.
- Offer promptly once fully thawed.
- Do not refreeze after thawing.
- Remove and discard any uneaten prey promptly.
Include a variety of suitable prey items in your animal’s overall feeding programme where appropriate, rather than relying on one prey type.
Storage & Hygienic Handling
- Keep frozen until required.
- Keep sealed during freezer storage to help prevent freezer burn.
- Do not refreeze after thawing.
- Use hygienic handling practices when storing, thawing and presenting the feeder.
- Remove and discard uneaten prey to help prevent decay, mould and enclosure contamination.
The feeder rat has been irradiated as a control measure against harmful bacteria, viruses and parasites. Normal hygiene and careful handling are still required.
