About This UVB Tube

The Exo Terra Reptile UVB150 Linear 36W is a high-output T8 terrarium tube developed for desert-dwelling reptiles and other animals that require strong UVB exposure. It is designed to reproduce the higher ultraviolet levels associated with open, sunny desert environments.

Its UVB output supports natural vitamin D3 synthesis and normal calcium metabolism. The strong UV penetration also makes the UVB150 useful in terrariums with denser screen covers, where part of the emitted UVB can otherwise be filtered before it reaches the animal.

Setup & Use

Install in a compatible 36W T8 fluorescent fitting intended for terrarium use. Position the lamp so the animal receives an appropriate level of UVB for its species and enclosure setup, taking account of the distance to the basking area and any screen between the lamp and animal.

Provide shaded areas and places where the animal can move away from the light so it can regulate its own exposure.

UVB requirements vary between species. Match the lamp strength and installation distance to the animal's established husbandry requirements rather than choosing by enclosure size alone.
