Burgess Excel Chinchilla Nuggets 1.5kg

Chinchilla Food Adult Chinchillas Complementary Feed 1.5kg Pack High in Fibre Added Mint
Overview

Burgess Excel Chinchilla Nuggets are a complementary feed for adult chinchillas, designed to fit into a high-fibre, low-energy feeding plan alongside plenty of quality hay. The nugget format helps prevent selective feeding, so your chinchilla gets a more balanced mouthful with every serving.

Added mint gives the nuggets extra appeal, while prebiotics and beneficial fibre help support healthy digestion. The recipe is also made to support skin and coat condition and help maintain a healthy immune system with antioxidants, including vitamin E.

As a chinchilla daily diet, these nuggets are intended to be fed in small amounts rather than as the main part of the ration. Hay remains the foundation of the feeding plan, with fresh water always available.

Feeding Guide

Feed in small amounts in line with the pack guide. A chinchilla’s main diet should be built around quality, dust-extracted feeding hay, with nuggets offered as part of the wider feeding plan.

500g chinchilla 12g per day
800g chinchilla 20g per day
  • Offer in a heavy-bottomed ceramic dish or a dish fixed to the cage.
  • Keep fresh water available in a sipping bottle and check it twice daily.
  • Make hay available all the time.
  • Foraging can be encouraged by sprinkling Burgess Excel Mountain Meadow Herbs or Country Garden Herbs through the hay.
Notes
  • This is a complementary feed, not a complete food.
  • Chinchillas are herbivores and do best on a high-fibre diet.
  • Hay is important for dental wear because chinchilla teeth grow continuously.
  • Some dark dried leafy greens may be tolerated by some chinchillas, but only in very small amounts.
  • Fresh greens should only be introduced with veterinary advice.
