Overview

The Arcadia ShadeDweller ProT5 is a compact complete UVB lighting kit developed for crepuscular and lower-UV species. It combines an 8W 7% UVB T5 lamp with the ProT5 fitting and reflector to create a focused UV zone while still allowing the animal access to shade.

Suitability

Designed around the lighting needs of crepuscular species such as leopard geckos. Arcadia also lists crested geckos, small day geckos, amphibians, invertebrates and hatchling snakes among suitable applications when the enclosure and basking distance are appropriate.

Setup & Use

The fitting can be installed inside a suitable wooden vivarium using the supplied fitting kit or positioned above mesh on a compatible glass enclosure. The kit is designed to create a targeted UV area alongside shaded space for self-regulation.

Arcadia gives 250mm / 10" as a safe recommended minimum distance from the lamp to the reptile for this kit. Mesh can reduce the UV reaching the animal, so placement should be chosen for the individual species and enclosure.
